EXPERIMENTAL SETUP AND WORKING PROCEDURE
ELEMENTS OF SETUP
Several elements of the experimental setup were as follows:-
1. Burner:
Burner was a heat source for generating steam.
2. Steam generating unit:
It was a contained with water. By heating, steam was produced from it.
3. GI pipe:
Galvanized iron pipe of 3/4" in diameter, was used for conveying steam
from steam generating unit to the rectangular box containing the fins.
4. Elbow:
3/4" inch diameter 900 elbows were used.
5. Socket:
3/4" inch diameter socket was used for joining.
6. Thermometers:
Three thermometers ranged (0-100) C were used to measure inlet steam temperature,
outlet steam temperature and condensed water temperature.
7. Rectangular box:
Steam came close contact to the fin base in this condensation took place. Box
size was (18"*18"*6")
8. Ms Plate:
Fins were attached to 1/16" MS plate of 18"*18"size.
9. Stand:
A stand was used to support rectangular box.
10: Tap:
A brass tap was used to regulate condensed water.
11. Beaker:
To measure and collect condensed water
