What is Fixed Bed
Pyrolysis ?
Fixed bed pyrolysis
In fixed bed pyrolysis a fixed bed pyrolyser is used. The feed material
in the reactor is fixed and heated at high temperature. Thus, feed material
is converted into gaseous mixture, which is condensed for liquid production.
As the feed material is fixed in the reactor bed, (reactor) it is called
fixed bed pyrolysis. In this process the feed material is fed into the
reactor and heat is supplied externally. Nitrogen or other inert gas
is used for making inert condition and for helping the gaseous mixture
to dispose of from the reactor. Fluidized bed pyrolysis is more complex.
This study is based on continuous fixed bed pyrolysis system.
