Mathmatical argument
of Pyrolysis:
2 Mathematical arguments:
For reactor:
To get maximum amount of liquid product Vapor residence time should
be less then 5 sec. Vapor residence times is the time between solid
waste cracking and vapor quenching.
Let,
N2 gas flow rate through the reactor = Vf L/min
Free space in the reactor = Vfsp L
Vapor residence time = t sec
Internal diameter of the reactor, D = 10cm
Effective length of the reactor, L = 27cm
Diameter of vapor outlet pipe, d1 = 2.54cm
Length of vapor outlet pipe, l1 = 15cm
Length of fire-tube, l?2 = 27cm
Diameter of fire-tube, d2 = 1cm
Number of fire-tube = n
Then assuming 70% of the reactor volume is occupied by feed materials
For n=9, Vfsp = 654.9cm3 = 0.6549 L
For t = 2.5 sec, Vf = 15.69L/min; For t = 5 sec, Vf = 7.848L/min;
For t = 10 sec, Vf = 3.924 L/min; For t = 20 sec, Vf = 1.962 L/min
For n=8, Vfsp = 661.27 cm3 = 0.66127 L
For t = 2.5 sec, Vf = 15.87 L/min; For t = 5 sec, Vf = 7.93L/min
For t = 10 sec, Vf = 3.96 L/min; For t = 20 sec, Vf = 1.98 L/min
