Properties for pyrolysis :
Characterization of the liquid study
Physical and chemical properties
The fuel properties such as density, specific gravity, viscosity, higher
calorific value and PH value of liquid are found out.
Density:
Density means mass per unit volume. In M.K.S system density is expressed
in kg per cubic meter .

The density of the liquid product of the scrap tires from bicycle/rickshaw
was 970 kg/m3
(Average) and the density of the liquid product of the scrap tires from
bus-truck was 945 kg/m3 (average). Density for diesel=840 kg/ m3, for
petrol, p= 664 kg/ m3, and for kerosene p =755 kg/m3.
Higher calorific value:
The amount of heat is given by the complete combustion of unit quantity
of a fuel is termed as its higher calorific value and usually expressed
in KJ/kg of fuel. Where,
M1 = weight of the liquid fuel,
C = 2.3 ×burnt wire length,
W = 2426 cal/gm°K water equivalent.
T = temperature difference between before burning and maximum temperature
after burning.
In this research work, the H.H.V of the liquid product is determined
by the oxygen bomb calorimeter. The average H.H.V of the scrap tires
of bicycle/rickshaw pyrolysis oil is found to be 40000 kJ/kg, which
is near to diesel that have and petrol fuels. The average H.H.V of the
scrap tires of bus-truck pyrolysis oil is found to be 41000 kJ/kg, which
is also near to diesel and petrol fuels.
