Physical arguments


The dimensions of reactor, condenser and connecting tubes are based on suitable considerations; such as, the standard size of the parts available for the production of liquid oil. The length of the reactor is designed so that the vapor residence time is less than 5 sec for fast pyrolysis to take place. The length of the condenser is determined for desired conditions, such as temperature, mass flow rate of vapor and water.
