3. Compressed Air Production:
Introduction:
Compressed air is very essential for an industry. The compressed air could
be use in Weaving room, Air conditioning system. The compressed air should
have moisture in it. The air should also supply to the required area at the
required pressure. So the whole system has to control very carefully.

KAESER Compressor
Purpose of the compressor:
i) The main and principal purpose of the compressor is to produce compressed
air. Compressed air is supplied in the weaving room, in the inspection room,
in air conditioning system.
ii) Compressor is used for supplying compressed air in the chiller.
Main parts of a compressor:
i) Air filter vi) Safety valve xi) Control valve
ii) Dust collector vii) Oil filter xii) Vent valve
iii) Diving motor viii) Air cooler xiii) Silencer
iv) Oil separator ix) Dirt trap
v) Pressure gauge x) Nozzle
Principal of compression:
The stationary compressor package is fitted with a single stage, oil- injected
airend. Two rotors, the driven male rotor and the female rotor, both mounted
in roller bearings, are fitted in the airend. As the rotor rotate, air is
drawn into the upper side through inlet port and is compressed on the lower
side. The oil that is injected into the lower side absorbs heat generated
by compression, prevents metallic contact between the rotors, seals the rotor
and the housing from each other and also lubricates the roller bearings. The
compressed air and oil mixture leaves the airend via discharge port.
